Belonging – I am, because of you.

This brief [15 min] TED talk from wildlife activist Boyd Varty looks to Nelson Mandela for powerful inspiration, because to him Mandela is the international embodiment of “ubuntu.” In essence, ubuntu means that people are not people without other people.

Boyd shares incredible experiences living and working with his family on a wildlife reserve in South Africa, all of which prove to him the connectedness, the inherent spirit of belonging, between humans and animals.

“Our own wellbeing is deeply tied to the wellbeing of others. Everything is shared. UBUNTU asks us to open our hearts and share.”
