In the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida shooting, art and music therapists came to the Coral Springs Museum of Art to create a safe, welcoming space for the community. Under the auspices of the museum’s Healing Through Art program, a steady stream of participants came for several days to create art, listen to music, cuddle with therapy dogs. All were comforted. Bree Gordon is one of the music therapists who responded without hesitation to share their healing kindness in action.

It feels like something is coming – a shift, a change, a difference – after the tragedy last week in Parkland, Florida. When we moved to the farm, we began to foster for Maine Lab Rescue, an all-breed cat and dog rescue. Over a two-year period we fostered and cared for over 230 dogs, plus a momma-cat and her kittens.
