Emergency Confetti – Be Prepared for Good News!
(Seen on Facebook – Yes! “Good News” and “Facebook” in the same sentence!):
My 8yo in the car today: “Do you want me to throw the confetti in my pocket?”
Me: “No not in the car! – why do you have confetti in your pocket??”
8yo: “It’s my emergency confetti. I carry it everywhere in case there is good news.”
There is just so much to celebrate in that very notion of “emergency confetti” – starting with, no matter what your day feels like right now, expect a reason to party at any moment! Which is why, secondarily, you must have confetti at hand, ready to launch! Duh.
Then again, you don’t have to wait for a reason to celebrate for yourself, you can make sure good happens to someone else – and they throw their supply of emergency confetti!
Here’s the thing. It has been a long challenging year – a year where most everyone has a list of things they have had to “do without.” So something good that makes someone happy, joyful, confetti-ful is definitely worth doing.
Think about this: What would make you throw confetti in the air today? Now turn around and make it Good News and confetti-worthy for someone else!
Emergency Confetti Starters
- Drive a friend to get their #2 vaccine
- Leave flowers for a neighbor on their porch
- Send chocolates to the nurses at the local Assisted Living facility
- Make a casserole (they’re back!) for a teacher
- Slip a gift card to the Delivery person who brings stuff to your home every week
Do good – it’s in you. (And don’t forget the confetti!)
Thanks! A superb idea!
