To Be Lionhearted – Why It Matters
Our August focus, “To Be Lionhearted,” profiled some powerful stories of individuals who moved forward unflinchingly to improve lives, even at great risk – and gathered entire communities of lionhearts along the journey. Not surprisingly, with their spiritual force of integrity, compassion and courage, they righted some societal wrongs too. Here is what we know from this month: Fierce care from a pride of lionhearts is never self-serving, it is always about serving others, for the greater – bigger – grander – and all-inclusive good.

Elesse Bafandjo organized a concert for people with albinism and those who had misconceptions about the condition for the purpose of restoring their relationship.

And that thing which is the hardest to admit, is that character doesn’t have to go.” She is a lionheart who changed lives.
