Summer Movie Reflection: “The Best of Enemies” on Video

Our “Live Yes, And” contributor, Travis Thomas shares his reflections on a super impactful movie he watched on a recent plane trip. It’s a “reflection” because Travis is sharing the story (spoiler alerts!) and how much it meant to him. The Best of Enemies takes place in 1971 in North Carolina around the issue of school integration – but it is really about how to turn division, hatred, inflexibility into empathy, understanding, unity. Ooooh. Which is why Travis wants everyone to see this movie for the hope it offers all of us today. As Travis says, “We need the best of the best to be willing to talk with the worst of the worst at the same table. Doesn’t matter who is who or which is which, both need to be at the community table!”
