Ask Your Heart: What Issue Hurts the Most? That’s Where You Start.

“I didn’t like how people were being treated.”
.

“Your time and effort is being spent on something [homelessness] that isn’t about financial contribution. It’s more of a heart contribution.”
.
“I don’t want anyone to be treated differently.”

Activists are using their hands, feet, muscle and creativity because of what their hearts are telling them – something in the community is unjust, unfair, unequal, and they want to help change that. Maybe first, then, they are “spiritual” activists, determined to right a moral imbalance that has caused over time unimaginable pain for communities everywhere.

Our profiles below illustrate that activists come in all sizes and talents which they put to good and effective use. But they all have a common – golden –thread: Love your neighbor…unconditionally, equally, generously, actively.

Give a Service, Give to a Cause
Social justice matters to Jack. He’s 11 and believes he – his commitment and his lawnmower – can help make change for the better. “I didn’t like how people were being treated.”

The Fan-Army Helping the Homeless
Come for the entertainment, leave with a mission! These music fans are a pumped, caring and giving army when they leave an event, arms filled with bags of blankets and essentials for homeless people they meet on the street. “You have no idea the impact that you can have just by saying ‘hello,’ just by acknowledging the person’s presence on the street.”

“Draw With Me a Message of Hope”
Aiden is 9-years-old and an artist. His canvas is the sidewalk in his neighborhood, and his message is love and friendship. This is Aiden’s way to contribute to a movement that will make needed change for the better.

Now, what is your heart telling you? Do something that shows you hear.
