Whenever there is injustice or suffering afflicting neighbors or a community it can be tempting to think, “I am just one person, the problem is so big – what can I possibly do to make a difference, to make it better?”
Angad Singh Padda recently graduated Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors) from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. In his speech – which he gave extemporaneously – Padda implores his fellow graduates to take their passion and fix six of the world’s biggest problems.
Violent crime and unemployment rates are nearly twice the national average in Baltimore. Educators say factors like these add significant stress to children, causing emotional and behavioral problems, so several public schools are working to reduce that stress with mindfulness and meditation.
